So its that time of year again when all the students leave their hometowns to arrive in a better/worse place, to study and party. I had missed this last year due to failing my 1st year (boys and girls work hard!) However I redid the year and now here I am back in Leicester town and proud of my achievement. Ive rented a house out with a couple of friends and I must say my room is a fucking BOX.
Nothing new thought i'd bring this to you...really feeling this song, i dont really buy albums but i'll get it on the strength of this song..real hip hop..plus the girls is quite hot!!
Now I must admit I have been neglecting my bassline music for a while now mostly due to the fact of lack of mixes for download. A friend of mine recently showed me this youtube video of 'Blackout Crew' and their tune 'Put A Donk On It'. Apparently it has blown up in the raves and/or achieved a mediocre position in the charts etc. It is embarassing for the bassline genre in my opinion just everything about it has been done alot better before yet these are the tracks that are heard by the mainstream massive. No wonder so many people think its shitty chav music...
I was at this match with some family and friends....well worth the packed trains and congested roads!!..This win now means Arsenal are in the Carling Cup Fourth Round..It was played by the younger Arsenal squad which made it all the more spectacular!!
Karma is such a female dog. Today I actually got jacked by an anonymous shopper from Uniqlo today. Well not really but I was about to pay for my goods of a grand sum of £70 when I realised I had dropped my cash, spent ages looking for it but obviously some lucky person/thief picked it up. Lesson learnt for me I need good Karma and chip and pin for me from now on! Anyway a quick hookup by AL-X saved the day, also thanks to Trewz for the DISC...DUNO
Heres a little peek at some of my recent pickups. A purple V-Bomber down jacket from Uniqlo, the flash makes it look really shiny but obviously its more toned down but gives you a sense of the colour. I love purple. The hood lining is really soft almost like real fur, feels incredibly warm. Lets just say Im full ready for the British winter! Unis approaching so I copped a few Uniqlo briefs and socks, dont know about the quality just hope its a step up from my beloved Marks and Sparks though. These are from the Supreme drop at Hideout the saturday gone. My blue supreme boxing glove keyring, was so tempted by the actual Everlast ones but they are £80 and mans not ballin right about now. The other compact Supreme item is a clever little pouch which opens out into a large tote bag with stripes, thats Al-X's but hes been jacked by me haha.
Hi for those who don't know me i'm Akan a.k.a London Kid...
this is my 1st official blog post for Fashionable Otaku. I would like to say thanks to the crew for letting me be a residential blogger for the forum!!..I hope I can bring a new dynamic to this blog..I'll be posting soon so keep a look out
Woke up early to go check out the A/W 08 Supreme drop at The Hideout, guys picked up some key rings and hats, then spent the day chilling till Livin Proof started. Came across this sign which made us laughDid some more sporty activities in Golden Square, which resulted in the throwing thing breaking, someone said it looked like a Smurfs bits
Linked few other guys, some came with us and some went home, Trewzwas working so had to link us after 11, which by then, entry was 7 quid, but with a lil link and a wet finger, we managed to forge a stamp on his hand and he got in! Missed some of my fave tunes as there was a que to get back into the basement but still had a good time
The night started off quiet and left me thinking what happened to the hype? Hour later and the place was live and moshin!
Mexicali is a Mexican restaurant located in Soho. They sell Burritos, Tacos Nachos etc The Burrito comes in a meal deal concluding of a beef or chicken Burrito, a drink and guacamole or sour cream all for £6.20, and trust me, if your hungry, you wont be after you have finished your meal.
Met up with few of the boys and chilled around central once again
Milo-X is after a Eastpak x Raf Simons bag so we checked out the new Eastpak store in Carnaby. They had most of the collection unlike Browns and Selfridges who only stock a few of different styles and colours.
Hmmm what one looks better
Later made our way to Golden Sq. to have us some sports, Trewz was merkin the whole of the Sq with his venomous throws, on some West Indian cricket throwing flex
Bobby brought his bike so we took it around the square
When it came to my go the uptown bikers decided to give me a race or something, which was pretty scary seen as im not used to riding a bike without brakes, look at the horror in Trewz face! After all of that we went to Wagamamas for dinner, but there are no pics to prove it, what I do have, are pics of todays dinner, me and Milo-X shared a Variety Bucket from KFC
Before
After
Gonna be Dubsteppintomorow at Yoyo or Styleslut so keep posted for pics and maybe and a lil tale of the night out
Mooncake Festival is a festival about when the Moon is most rounded and perfect, celebrated in many Asian countries but originated in China, props!
Anyway yesterday visited central London to purchase some celebratory foods for the family meal and roll thru'd Chinatown which was about as exciting as hanging yourself, OK maybe we just missed the good events, hah!. But if you didnt make you didnt miss out at all. Went home and prayed to my Deity and had the family meal which was so scrumptious that I had to have KFC later on in the day. Returned to central London as couple of friends decided to go to the Topshop open day recruitment, both got past the 1st round so 'e-spuds' for all involved. On the way there we saw 2 closet homosexuals and a magic preacher/rabbit. Shouldve both been arrested under the lewd behaviour act, I mean in the local train station in front of the kids...not right lads! David Blaine eat your heart out! Queue mustve had 100-150 heads at certain points. I mean WHO queues for Topshop interviews?!
After that went to grab some KFC to eat which aside from the murked family bucket was shite! dutty toilets, weird security guards (why are you doing that?), rude hungry customers and surely a lack of working chip and pin machines. Whats happened to 'finger lickin good' and The Colonel?!
Finally gave the full moon a look in, listened to some fireworks lol and went home to eat some mooncakes. Then I slept for ages.

His new track "Love Lockdown" is available on the Kanye Blog. Plus a set date and title for his forth coming album has been set, so go get "808's And Heartbreak" on 16th December
Just watched the "Let's Rock" keynote by Steve Jobs (CEO of Apple Inc.). And no iPhone nano as rumors say, however there is the new generation of the iPod Nano and iTouch (iPod Touch). Plus for you iPhone users out there, the firmwire 2.1 is coming out on Friday. So you have til then for your iPhone to stop crashing.
I have had an interest in Raf Simons for a while now, the fusion of ideas is simply fantastic and have always taken a great interest in what they do. I spotted these recently on Oki-Ni and read into the details and was very excited by them. On the face of it they look like a generic high/low top sneaker but the cool twist with these is there is a zip on the sole allowing the interchange of the high or low top sneaker depending on your mood for the day! They look beautifully crafted and come in another colourway but not available at Oki-Ni . Retail is at a whopping £499, well I suppose its 2 pairs of sneaker in 1...
From what I have gathered, this Indian reality TV show is about contestants who come on to win money through being humiliated by a women known as the 'Queen of Humiliation', she also wouldnt look out of place in a Bollywood movie.
Anyway in this video she slaps a guy who answered back in a particularly cocky manner (0.14), he gives an immediate and sublime return (0.17). The aftershock of all this is the 'wastecoat'presenter Akash playing hero and beating the guy down with his whole TV crew behind him, what a guy eh?
Was he right to slap her back? was she right to slap him in the first place assuming it was a non-physical reality TV show?
Rumours have it that the Gap x Collette collection will be available in the Oxford Street Gap.
For now its just a rumour but hopefully, it will come through and we can pick up a few things.
The collaboration is not as nice or anticipated as the H&M x Comme Des Garcon collab but its still something to look forward to! Will keep you posted on any info!
